140 Characters Conference –
Central Sierra
May 24, 2011, Twain Harte, CA

Post conference update: The conference was a great success and plans are already underway for next year’s 140Conf – Central Sierra, as well as some social networking events between now and then. Please visit our website at http://140confcs.com for the latest updates. You may also join our mailing list to get the latest information via email.

The conference explores the effects of social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and others) and the emerging real-time Internet on individuals, organizations and regions. The goal is to bring together a diverse group of passionate people both on and off stage, to share their perspective, their experiences and their stories about how the real-time Internet is affecting their industry sectors and the people inside them.

The format is unique and fast-paced. Presentations are limited to 10-20 minutes each, to permit as many people as possible to share their stories. Presenters are selected to stimulate discussion across a wide range of sectors including: business, agriculture, government, tourism, education, entertainment, non-profit and more.

Since the launch of the #140conf events, conferences have taken place in cities around the world. These events provide a platform for the worldwide online community to: listen, connect, share and engage with each other, while collectively exploring the effects of the real-time Internet on individuals, business and society.

The take aways from this event will provide the attending delegates knowledge, perspectives and insights into the effects of the real-time Internet on their organizations and their connections to both online and real-world events.

This event is part of the #140conf LOCAL series, produced under license from 140 Characters Conference Events, Inc. A portion of the proceeds benefits digital literacy programs at the Amador-Tuolumne Community Action Agency.
